Mpe consume more fuel?

Wondering if mpe actually consume more fuel? My theory is louder exhuast = more energy consumption. So where the energy come from? Either fuel or electricity?! Any thought?

Should not consume more in same driving conditions:
- more sound = less attenuation from noise baffles

In theory, since they are no gains from an exhaust (the ECU manages the air/fuel ratio), the MPE will consume the same.

BUT, since you will love the exhaust sound, one is expected to drive the car a little harder
