Leaky injectors question

I suspect I have 2 leaky injectors due to a cold start misfire. Car now has new coils and plugs.

Can I purchase 2 used but good index 6 injectors to swap out the 2 that are leaking ?

Coding is still a requirement ?

My understanding is that you'll need to code injectors UNLESS the power and fuel numbers are the same. I swapped mine out and didn't have a single match, so I coded all through INPA, which takes almost no time at all once you have the software running.

You might find two rebuilt index 6, or could swap 3 new index 12 into the bank with bad injectors. Might check rock-auto for prices and availability. They are over $200 at the dealer.

yes coding is required. it's required even if you switch the injectors (e.g. swap cyl 1 with cyl 2).

I wouldn't bother with used injectors they will just fail again.

Anything index 10 or less will be fine and yes they need to be coded. For the simple fact that they take 10 minutes to swap I don't mind swapping a bad one for a good used one.

Rock auto has been around $200 for the last 6 months or so. I luckily picked 3 up there for $120 late last year.

Not 100% on this, but I think that it is recommended that you replace the whole bank (3) as opposed to just pulling two. But, yes, coding is required. There are a few indexes that are interchangeable too.

You only need to replace them by bank (3 injectors) if you are using above index 10 as was stated above by CanadianTsi....who I assume is a former DSMer like myself
