Just ordered - 440i Convertible
Hi all,
A newbie to the F3x fraternity but an old hand with BMW, having owned 12 in my time. I thought I'd join the x40i club and therefore, let everyone know what I've ordered. Here's the spec; F33 440i M Sport Auto Convertible Mineral Grey Black Dakota Leather Convertible Comfort Pack Interior Comfort Pack M Sport + Pack Comfort Access Reverse Assist Camera Surround View Head Up Display Folding Mirrors Enhanced Bluetooth I've also added the 20" 405m Alloys and black grilles. I'm told the car should be here in mid September, the wait is on! Can anyone answer a simple question, do I need the USB audio cable, or with EBT, can I Bluetooth my music? Is the cable better quality? Thanks all Ian |

Bring on the hairdresser comments!
Thanks for the welcome, I can't wait to get it and hopefully have a bit of the summer left. I have to stop myself buying new bits and bobs, I went a bit mad with my 135i and bought every M Performance part for it, spending over £50k before factoring in the discount I got, but it was one hell of a car! |

Sounds very nice! hopefully get the roof down before winter sets in! You can stream your music via Bluetooth no probs, but yes cabling up should provide better sound if that's important. Bluetooth streaming re-codes the audio files that ultimately strips away some of the data and you may notice the difference between the two (espeically as you have the HK speakers). I generally use a cabled up Ipod Classic or copy music to the Hard Drive, but have used the Bluetooth streaming as well just for convenience.

Or just stick a 32gb USB in there and leave it. Much easier than syncing files to iPods and such. OP - great car. Bet you can't wait .

Couple of the guys are suggesting the HD, which I have done also, but for me it's easier to just manage it all via the iPod, I have a house full of iPods and iPads and so I centrally manage all the music from iTunes and just sync up the various devices in one go. For the car's HD you have to export your music to something and import again to the HD which for me just adds to the house IT Support workload! If however you just have lists of MP3's on your PC then you can also copy to a USB Drive and plug that in (copy to the car's HD if you wish). And you have the option of Online Entertainment which streams music from the net and also saves it to the car's HD. Another can of worms to open is to ask which method has the best sound quality, or which file format.

Did you consider the adaptive suspension? I test drove a 440i convertible with it and it was excellent. With your 20s it might make a big difference?

interested to see how you like this. Saw a red 435i convertible last weekend with tan leather, looked really nice.
Get a good deal ?

Thanks all, think I'll try Bluetooth and then, if that's not good enough I'll buy a cable.
Didn't go for Adaptive Suspension, I drove a convertible with the 20s and didn't see an issue. I got a great deal, 22% discount, the grills thrown in for free and the 20s for £2300, I'm pretty pleased with that! |

Awesome. Sounds good! Nothing wrong with the MG and Black, but did you consider another interior? Some prefer black. MG and CR

I did think about the coral, but it's just too red for me, I wanted a bit more stealth and less bling! I also looked at the Individual options, but none of them really took my fancy - a lot of money, for something that I'd never say 'wow' to.
