To all the Chicago peeps: where do you take your car to have fun? Not talking about speeding/racing, just some good, twisty roads with nice scenery rather than going from light to light in the seemingly endless suburbs of Chicagoland...

There are nice roads in the southwest burbs .. 95th west of Lagrange has some amazing curves thru the forest preserves

Head west to Galena, north to New Glarus, or south west to Starved Rock. Got to get at least an hour past the outskirts of the burbs to get into the good stuff.

Yeah that's kind of my conclusion. And even then, it's a lot of straight lines relative to the number of interesting turns...
Need to move out of the Midwest.

Looked it up on Google Maps and it looks like it's a one-mile stretch with maybe three turns? Am I looking in the wrong place?

Sheridan Road going through the north lakeshore is nice when there is not a lot of traffic. Pretty close and makes for semi-quick ride. 2nd Galena, Starved Rock and by New Glarus. They are a little further but well worth the trip. Our local club does group cruises to these locations throughout the year. We will probably be doing a cruise in the next month or two to Kettle Moraine in WI. Great drive, but definitely a full morning/afternoon trip. Check out Chitown///M Club on FB or www.chitownm.com to keep your eyes peeled.

Thanks man! Subscribed to chitownm though it seems pretty quiet over there. Will keep an eye out.

Our Facebook page has a lot more activity. Introduce yourself on both when you have time.

...don't have Facebook.
But yeah I should start by introducing my car here (have been meaning to do so for 2 months) and then paste it over there...

Sheridan road is fun for the 90 sec between Tower rd and Scott ave in Winnetka - I've been driving that little spot since I was in high school.

LSD is horrible, too many potholes, bumps, assholes. Not many cops though if you go at the right time. I used to hit a solid 100mph on my commute into work at 9:30am after traffic cleared out.

Kettle Moraine is about the best you'll find within a 2 hr drive. Stay up in Lake Geneva for a weekend and cruise around, it's worth it.

There are also some rally companies out there who do that stuff regularly with some amenities - all over the country actually.

Chicago Rally
Black List Rally
Corsa America
The Fast Lane Rally
North Face Rally
Gold Rush Rally
