Mods on a budget

So I'm in a land of 300%+ import duty for cars and even parts have 80% added to the price. My 218i costs more than an M2 in US, and thus I'm having to go down the route of Alibaba in search of thinks to tweak the visual look of my car.

This week I'm trying out a steering wheel kit. Wanted to get the alcantara steering wheel to match my alcantara interior but not paying $1600 bucks. So the link for the $50 version is

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/XuJi-...08.0.87.vpt8LO

Loved the fact I could customise so many things. I chose blue thread only, and a double blue bar on the top. The blue bar material is a bit lame so you may want to opt out of that, but the actual feel is great.

I can't sew at all and bodged a bit of the stitching but happy with the result overall. My aching finger tips not so much.

Nice work! For someone who hasn't done it before the results will satisfy. I personally wouldn't attempt it myself......I'm sure I'd mess something up also.

Speaking if Aliexpress mods, I ordered M performance pedals and //M cup holder mats from there. Quality is good for the price is say...

Thanks for sharing this - a nice idea to deal with the hard steering wheel. How is it holding up so far?
