So why have you ordered a M Sport?

Think it all depends on the colour, my brother has got his in mineral grey and it's quite nice as you don't notice the grey section.

I think it looks great & I prefer it to the rear of the X-line.

Erm... Because it's an Msport and I prefer the spec level

I think I'll have to do something about it when it arrives

I agree in me metal grey it blends in..... So I think I will be getting that bit matched to the cars colour when I get it

Spend some time going back through the forum when the F48 was first launched and you'll see loads of people with the same view...so it's not just you.

I've got an M-Sport and it doesn't bother me at all.

Same here. I've ordered the M-sport for the spec - despite the rear bumper.

I don't know why BMW do this. My current car (M135i) has the same sort of thing - a grey panel at the base of the rear bumber, but - as mentioned - it goes OK with Mineral Grey. Thing is, my X1 will be Estoril Blue...

I wasn't sure about it to start with but now I'm used to it I quite like the contrast that it provides...

Honestly, it looks good against Estoril Blue.

It's totally weird! But I dig it on my Estoril Blue. Looks like a giant shiny grey dog bone or a spanner.

one reason we went with mineral grey but, as we see more of them around (including photos on this forum), you get used to it and slowly admit it actually looks good/ok with the whites and blue.
