M Sport Red Brake Kit!

Hey guys,

Firstly would this kit, fit my car?

Direct link to ebay listing: http://goo.gl/cFZPgS

This seems a good price, I think its £275 cheaper than BMW sell for direct and its from the eBay shop of BMW Stratstone Hull.

Some people say when fitting these breaks BMW will need to code them to the car. Do you guys think it will be cheaper for a local garage to fit them and then take the car to my BMW dealer to code the brakes, or just get BMW to do the whole job?

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Liam

I'd get all the labour done at a BMW approved independent to save dealer costs but ensure coding done right, not an area to skimp on really.

Love the red system, very nice contrast and Porsche like.

Go for it!

Edit if making the change and serous about the car I personally would get steel brake lines installed too at the same time. Cheap upgrade but great if ever tracking.

Just of out curiosity why do you want these ?
As 1.5k + labour for some red brakes seems a tad excessive for a 320d , how quick do you need to stop in Portsmouth haha !

I think the next thing is a DMS remap as soon the car is out of warranty. I am hearing good things, get me up to around 245bhp. 20% more torque. but if I do this I am with the car for the long haul and will be changing alot more to complement the extra power and to also give it an even better look.

This forum can spend your money very easily lol!

Wouldn't it have been better getting a higher model (330d ,335d) with the brakes and bhp to begin with ?

I wish I could of at the time, but the 320d for me was a great choice at the time. Cost of running is low, allowed me to keep saving in this quite spacious 2 bed flat towards a house etc.

Soon as I have secured a house in a years time or under, don't you worry I will be looking to upgrade!

From what I am seeing the 330d is a great all rounder for the price. Even some great used bargains with low mileage. 335d/340i is something that people seem to really really boast about its power. I quite like the idea of a 440i GC too, do they make them yet? And the M3 is the ultimate goal whenever that may be. One day man, one day!

It's a scientifically proven fact that red calipers offer more braking power than any other colour, plus they increase the size of your manhood by 25% (so that's the wife, g/f, local sheep taken care of)!

Thats fair enough then, but I'd echo what everyone moaned at me to do...just save for the house ! thats just over 2k for brakes + map + labour which could go towards the house saving. Which would be 10x better than the mods which most likely won't add any resale value. I'd just ride the car out as it is as long as you can handle, just be glad your not going from a 435i to a 116i like i did

I might be wrong but I'm sure that kit doesn't come with rear discs for some strange reason but that ebay ad is listing them so even more of a bargain.
