I'll take a look when they get to an S3 with a different turbo...but Dinan's limitations arising from its duplication of the BMW warranty ultimately cost it flexibility in its engine mods. That warranty is important to some, not to others.

Ugh!

I'm running out of time for my final options. I was called today and told to figure it out ASAP as I was told production is imminent.

I love the sound of the MPE exhaust I heard during a test drive but that was a very small sample size. On my 1M I had the Dinan and the sound was glorious!

I might chop the MPE and see what Dinan has. After all, the MPE is around 4500 tax in on the build sheet and I can't see Dinan being more $$$.

You can price one for around 2400. Not sure where you got your 4K price point but that's a rip off.

MPE is $3500 plus tax in Canada. I would imagine the dinan Stage 1 would have an option for those who already have the exhaust and either just a tune or a dp option... not sure what they consider stage 1 vs 2.

http://www.bimmerworld.com/Exhaust/F...e-Control.html - Even if it's without tips, still way cheaper.

Not even close. By the time the exchange hits, plus shipping, it will be more expensive than going to the dealership.

Not sure what you mean by exchanging hits? A buddy of mine ordered his from that website along with tips at 600. That's 2800. That's well below the claimed 4X00. Feel free to take advantage of the deal, or don't. Doesn't matter to me

OP, second to respond to him and myself are in Canada. We have to exchange our crappy CAD to USD. Today's exchange is $1.32.

Plus custom broker fees, plus Canadian sale taxes (in general about 15%)...

In Canada, the MPE with CF tips at $3,500 plus taxes, about $4,025 is a fair price. Of course it is too expensive for a simple exhaust with no performance gain, but the sound in track mode is awsome !

Imagine the sound if a Fabspeed Sport cat downpipe (about $1,600 CDN) is added ! And a nice 21 whp power gain in premium... If only that would have no impact on the car's warranty... (TBD)

I want to tease so much in this thread but I must refrain (although I guess that was a bit of tease in itself)...

I will just say everyone with an M2 will be pleasantly surprised by the offerings from Dinan in the not so distant future.

But on topic... CAD exchange blows. I feel for you guys, I really do.

Little bit of advice from a guy in finance. Wait until the US gets closer to the election. If it looks like Trump is going to the win the dollar will drop fast - similar to the pound with Brexit. If Hilary is winning don't expect much of a change. By the way, I don't affiliate with any party, just common sense on this one boys.

You can always offer it to us at a discount so we reach parity

I bet if you did, even if a special sale for say one week, your sales to Canada would triple.

That way, they would lose money on each one, but make up for it in volume!

From a strictly power numbers perspective there isn't much. Turbo cars yield most of their power through boost, its that simple. The M2 is tuned close to its limit on the stock parts so simply turning up the boost and nothing else will yield the same amount of power as the DINANTRONICS Elite system that is tying into the factory DME and manipulating more data. It just doesn't translate into more power. What you are getting in difference would in theory be, better drivability (debatable with the limited gains in this instance however as there may not be enough delta to really notice it), and the warranty.

What I personally find weird about the M2, and this may be true of the JB+/DPT SPORT as well, is that even though the numbers don't indicate a large change in performance the car feels a lot different between stock and tuned--- you definitely feel more torque all over. Whether or not it just doesn't dyno well and needs the real ram air / flow interaction on the road I don't know but it sure as hell feels like more then 15HP across the rev range.
