Muffler Delete in Melbourne

Have seen a few videos of M235i's with Sports Cat Down pipe and muffler delete and thinking of heading down that path instead of spending $$$ on a full exhaust system.

Anyone in Melbourne know a good place to get a muffler delete? I've never modified an exhaust on any of my cars so not sure on where to go....

Any recommendations are appreciated

Thanks

I would really warn you on the consequences of this if you've never modified an exhaust before...

From the outside, sports cat down pipe and muffler delete might sound slightly better than a cat-back exhaust...

BUT the downside of it is droning. When cruising at speed you'll hear noticeable droning on the car...

Cat-back exhaust is not actually that expensive... considering the pricetag of the car. $2.5-3k can get you a good system like Milltek.

Anyways, it's just my opinion, not really trying to convince you one way or the other... I've had DP done to several of my previous cars, but i though a car like the M235i... a little bit more "sophisticated" i didn't want race car drone in the cabin. But then again the same level of drone, might feel like it's high for some and acceptable for other or nothing.

Thanks for the advice mate I appreciate it.

I have been looking into it for a while. I was set on going for a full Armytrix System. I'm in love with it.

But after seeing a few videos and reading a few threads, I'm thinking of the muffler delete to begin with and a sport cat down pipe down the track. Plan on doing the down pipe either way for the power gains and if I decide to, can always change the exhaust to something proper if I'm not happy with it. Muffler delete doesn't cost much so no harm done if I'm not happy with it. Just chuck the stock muffler back on.

Have a look at this thread. It's got some nice videos and reviews.

Sounds like a good plan! Also would suggest looking for a good flash tune (not piggyback) when you get your DP done.

Cheers mate

I'm about to install JB4 for the time being. I imagine it will be a little while before I get around to doing the down pipe.

OP: Did you find any places in Melbourne, because I live there too. All of these knobs keep on quoting me about $600. I believe it's because it's a BMW, they are trying to charge more.

Mr_White: Which shop in Melb? I think $600 for the Muffler delete is quite cheap. Do you know about the Fabspeed Fuffler by pass:

Yeah, the fabspeed muffler bypass is just a muffler delete.
I just had one fabricated, and it was too loud for my ears. Please see my ebay listing. I'm selling it.
