F10 M5/M6 auto shift knob in auto E92.
All,
First off, thanks for reading. Second, I've looked and haven't found much about this. So here goes... 1. Has anyone here done this? 2. If so, is the lack of a retention button (prevents inadvertently switching gears) a problem? 3. Any mods to the wiring needed besides plug-n-play? 4. How does it look? Thank you!!! |

Not having the retention button is not a big deal in my opinion, I've had the m5 shift knob for about 4 years now.

There is a thread that explicitly describes how to adjust the wiring so that it works correctly. For the most part I believe it is plug-and-play, but some wiring needs to be adjusted for the park, reverse, etc. to jive.
