Snowflake in a Triangle

Periodically when I start my E90 I get a symbol on the dash that looks like a Snowflake in a triangle. I can't find any reference to this anywhere.
Does anyone know what it means?

Gracias!
So it means "it's too damn cold, turn on the seat warmers!".

These symbols are identified in the Owners' Manual. The snowflake, as someone else mentioned is an ice warning.

Correct - it reminds you that the roads could have black ice on them and to be careful.

I will probably never see that warning here as it doesn't get that cold... well not at times that I would be driving. My last car (A4) had the snowflake come on at 5 deg C and I only saw it 4 times in the 4 years I had the car... 3 deg C I will have to wait for some freak weather...

Actually, it is not in my owners manual. I searched it several times. Thanks for the info though.

Actually, it is. Maybe one more search?

Amazing how I found it in just a few seconds on page 64.

I can only surmise that our Owners' Manuals were either (1) published for different markets or, (2) that they have different publication dates. Mine shows it on page 51 as stated above and there is a reference to the outside temperature display on page 12.

There are several flavors of the manual floating around, as there was a lot of functionality added starting with September production (e.g. Personal Profiles). I wasn´t contradicting your statement (doesn´t matter what page it is on, just that it IS in the manual) so you and I were replying to the same nonsense that someone posted saying it´s not in the manual.

I agree and certainly took no offense. My car, without i-Drive was built in July 2005. I am happy to try to help folks decipher the manual and the car but think they would do themselves a big favor by reading it carefully and perhaps more than once! I have been as guilty as others for not looking for answers in the OM before going off on a tangent! <g> When I started to install my V-1, I tore my hair out trying to remove the light pod behind the inside rear view mirror, thinking (erroneously) that it was mounted the same way as on previous BMWs only to discover after lots of toil that the OM contains instructions. Duh!

I read the owner´s manual before going to pick up the car and then went through it again the first night in the hotel (after a few Biers).

I also reread it before the car arrived in the U.S. to see what else I could learn.

I also find using the PDF very useful as you can search for terms far more quickly than in the paper version.

Hmmm, current temperature here is -2°C with snow.

Right now looks like 4 cm on the ground.
