Just pulled the trigger on new order... Another 340i M Sport on the way...

So, I finally sorted out the replacement for my 30 month old Tanzanite 330d M Sport...

My initial thoughts on changing from 330d

It's replacement will be a Glacier Silver 340i M Sport...

340i M Sport Auto
Arctic Silver
403M wheels
Black Leather
Ash Grain with Pearl Chrome trim
Media Pack Pro
Parking Package
Enhance BT
HK Sound
Folding/dimming mirrors
Extended storage
Folding rear head restraints
Front seat heating
Split folding seats
Active cruise
Icon adaptive LED lights
Lane change warning
M Sport brakes
Speed limit display
Surround view
Variable sport steering...

OK, so not the most loaded car out there, but a pretty hefty spec.

Discount negotiated was great and I got the current campaign 4.9% finance (which is reducing many overall discounts at present, with C2C etc showing less discount than a few month's ago..).

Also got a good deal on my existing car vrs finance pay off so it will be traded to the dealer in the next week or so (I can live without a car for the coming 3 months), the deal on the 330d meaning I shall save money as against paying the next three finance payments.

Anybody wants to know where the 330d will be being sold, let me know and I will put you in touch with them...

Now the wait begins....

Mine will definitely be a MY '17 build, with the new connected drive software... That was my only real stipulation as regards the timing...

The dealer is hoping for a September delivery... Let's see... I suspect they have some slots available to slot me in to..!!!

In the meantime, I have much to occupy me over the next three or four months work-wise, so am glad to have got things sorted today...

Sounds lovely mate, saloon or estate?

I like your write up on the 330d also, very honest and real world, not everyone washes their car every 10 minutes i agree

Great spec. Something to look forward to.

I've been told September also, German and Italian (Brembo) summer shutdowns at MY17 change.

I've done the 20d, 30d and 40i route myself so I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on collection.

Good luck patiently waiting.

Saloon... I don't need the extra space of the estate and, personal choice, I prefer the look of the 4-door shape....

As for the washing... I'm getting older and less inclined to do the upkeep necessary to keep a colour like TB clean and pristine... Same goes for spending money on individual and bespoke colours, nice as they may be (very, very nice in some cases), I can;t really bring myself to pay lots of £££'s for them...

On the other hand, radar cruise control, lane change warning, speed limit displays etc all have real world, day-to-day benefits (as I have found on some rentals I have been driving recently)...

You pays your money, you makes you pick... right..

Congrats Dave, was wondering if you were still thinking over the M235i M240i but see you went F30. Cracking spec and car

EDIt Silver revolution is happening. After years of saturation then avoidance, silver is back!

Congrats on your order. Looks like there'll be a few of us taking delivery of 340is come August/September.

Oh and I'm Glacier Silver too (although an F31)

You do realise if an officious council 'person' spots that they will issue a ticket?

However great car

OP congrats

Agreed on the options, they should really be named 'personals'.

The only option I am not convinced with in majority of manufacturers is Park Assist.

Good luck with the wait - the worst bit.

Main decider for 3-er over 2-er was practicality, Chris... An M240i would have probably been a little cheaper, but it's a little more cramped in the driving seat, less practical when 3 or 4 up and a smaller boot... Nice as the little coupe might be, it kept losing out in my weighing up... I must be as old as I feel - I don't recall the thinking process being the same when I signed on for the GT3..!!!!!

Yes, silver is back... And no flipping privacy glass, either... Much as I will be sad to see the 30d go, I shall not mourn the loss of that glass (shudder)...

Thanks... Yes, I like the term "personals"... For every "I cannot live without HUD" there is a "That's not worth an extra £25/month to me.."...

I actually used the park assist sometimes with the 30d... Can be helpful in some circumstances... But I probably would not have added it unless it was in the pack...

Surround view was very useful in the 30d so was an automatic tick this time...

I waited 3 months for the 30d so I am pretty sure I know what I am in for wait-wise... Dealer is hoping for September and I have a lot of work on these coming months, so can live without the car in that period...

I am thinking about surround view, so it may go on the list.
Mine was a February 6th order and a June20th delivery back in 2014, so yeah the wait is fun lol.

I assume no MSport Plus, as you don't want tinted rears?

No, didn't spec M Sport Plus, just chose the options I wanted from that pack separately... Thing is, I noticed that, now, that did not really affect GFV like it did back when I ordered the 30d...

I have found surround view incredibly helpful and it's the one thing my passengers have been most envious of... The front side view can be useful, but it's a leap of faith using it over your own checking... Overall, I found that less useful than surround...

You mean you don't love the 1/2 and 1/2 look Dropped it on my incoming too. Like most of pay more for a full factory dark look and privacy but a no go in the front, pah.

Congratulations Dave A.

Another 340i owner added to the list.
Somebody earlier had a thread on the number of forum members that had the 3 litre petrols. Most of them were F31's & sport autos though.
Not many F30 & manuals.

How many is that we now have, anybody ?

Well, delivery day tomorrow... Wish me luck...!!

Those of you who have been around a little while might recall my last delivery day which did not exactly go to plan. When I went to collect the car I was met with an "err, there's been a bit of a problem, and the car has been damaged"... To be fair, dealer did a stand-up job and I was recompensed for my inconvenience etc... and they have this order, also...

Just sorted insurance (Quote me happy, of all people, came out best with a good monthly deal) and GAP cover (Frank Pickles - with 10% forum discount).

So, early start tomorrow to get the car driven back up north before the traffic gets too much...
