Bolt on Mods with highest output...?
Hey guys,
One of my buddies has 08 335i coupe and wants to trick it out as much as he can with bolt ons. He wants the highest hp rating from each mod. Lets put money aside and not factor it in these mods...but can you guys give me an idea of what mods we can do to his car that gives us the highes output? Just want the car to breathe a little better basically. For example... possibly an Intake system, def. a ECU flash or chip, also an exhaust system... & whatever else you guys can suggest... If possible hit me with the best 3 mods you can think of. I did a search but so many options come up and so many opinions out there, its hard and confusing to search and find all of them, so I appreciate anyone who participates in helping me out. Thanks guys Rob |

this link is great, i saw it also, but i was sort of looking for someone that knowledgeable in telling me which intake, chip, downpipe...etc has the highest HP/TQ boost..for example does the JB2 give better HP/TQ feedback or the Procede... Not looking for anyone to go out of their way to give this info, if you know it by heart, help me out. thanks again |

UR pretty much has the undisputed king of the intakes.
The Vishnu chip probably has the most potential/is the most advanced.. but JB2H/R puts down similar numbers and more importantly, similar track times. The Helix seems to be the combination of the two, but it's still unproven. AA is comparable to Helix on the combination regard. As far as downpipes, I haven't really been keeping track. Everyone who has either seems to be pretty satisfied. For intercoolers, Spearco and Helix seem to be the most popular. Spearco's been around for a long, long time. But now Dinan has exclusive rights to Spearco's core, so you'll have to find someone that has one in stock (AutoTalent had one left as of friday). The dynos/temp charts for the helix were extremely impressive though.

combine the AA intercooler with the ecu with the UR CAI and i'm thinking about the UR catless downpipes...this should make considerable gains from stock. What do you guys think about that combo setup? I've heard many great things about the JB2 and the procede setup for the ecu, but i'm not sure which has better gains the JB2, Procede or the AA |

Yes i did sir.
Rather I go through each companies product one by one...I want to see if someone can set me up with the company names and their horsepower gains from each department of mods(real world numbers/experiences). I'm looking for maximum hp/tq gains, and i'm not looking at $$$ yet, just max power gains available from whichever company. Thanks |

3 best mods:
JB2HHR UR or Riss Catless DP's and A good set of rims and Drag radials to put the power down with... This setup should get you into the low 12's with ease....

if i was going all out with a CAI, DP's with exhaust system, FMIC and a tune. i would get a custom tune with all these mods in place. i think that would yeild the best and most advanced setup with all mods considered.

One thing to keep in mind is that the UR Cai will require cutting of support braces and such. It will reduce chassis stiffness, and also because of the placement of the filter element, it will require freqent filter changes. However, it does make the most power.
As far as tunes, Helix, JB2, Procede, and Dinan all make roughly comparable gains. JB2 holds the current reccord for the fastest 335i, and Helix has shown the highest gains in power over stock, but Dinan and Procede also make comparable power. |

Procede V2, RR catless DPs, Vishnu catback, custom airbox = 390WHP
Helix Attache, Helix FMIC, RR catless DP's, (don't remember if he had a catback exhaust) = 390WHP These numbers are on pump gas. |

Gruppe is not as good as the UR CAI...It uses the kidney grills with a scoop to get air...very similar to the stock OEM box, but less strictive...THe only thing it has over UR is that its pretty...But the price of it is absolutely ridiculous 1400...They are out of thier mind those Japanese people!!1

The OP stated money aside and besides with a turbo'd motor, you are not going to pick up as much gain as a NA motor (as most of you know) so you might as well look damn good goin slower than whizzzzzzin by folks lookin like a wtf!
