Worst car. Ever.

Just been talking about hard to sell cars in another thread. What's the worst car you've had? Either for poor reliability or just uniquely crap.

I'll kick it off with a couple of confessions:

I've owned an orange allegro with a brown velour interior (also had a later metallic green one )

I've also had a fiat uno 1100 which I stuck a "turbo IE" badge on the back of. The shame.....

I can't really recall having any bad cars, but the worst from a reliability standpoint was my E46 330i. Lots of electrical niggles.

ha! my first car was a white allegro, to which I added white wheels and white colour coded everything. including a white (false) air intake on the bonnet. what i was thinking of I've no idea.

it was probably my worst car but i'd expect to get better after the first!

Me too. My first car was a 1700L Princess (the bottom of the miserable range so even looked down upon by other Princess owners!) with slippery brown vinyl seats. It leaned so much in corners that anyone not wearing a seatbelt in the back would bounce off the doors. What a heap of crap...

I'm still quite young in comparison to some on here and not had many cars but my worst car was my E46 320d.

It was ridiculously loud, very slow and left a trail of black smoke whenever I went near the accelerator.

It did serve me well over 5 years as I bought it on 60k miles and sold it on 200k with only a blown turbo at 140k miles.

I once had a FIAT Argenta was an utter POS! I can't remember how or why I managed to get it or from where but it was very bad, broke down all the time.

I've had lots of sporty cars over the years, considered purchases,so none really bad,but two rank as disappointing...Vauxhall Calibra turbo and Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth.
Both were kept for less than 6 months...funny how the Vauxhall has gone completely whereas the Fords survive and are worth money.
I once did borrow someone's Allegro company car and that was appalling.

Renault 18TS off my Dad. That thing rolled round corners like nothing else.

I went from that to a Golf GTI Mk2 which was fabulous.

Pah. At least yours had the new 1700 engine. The one my dad gave me (despite me protesting!) was an 1800 ohv with odd seats (he set fire to the drivers when smoking in the car and replaced with a vinyl one!) and quite alot of filler in the bottoms of doors....

and a tow bar....

worst car we had for reliability was a Jeep Cherokee (2005). Had a 2002 version for three years and not one issue, had the upgraded version and hardly saw it due to electrical issues. Did get to try most of the Chrysler Jeep range whilst being repaired and a few Volvos too when we were bored of the Chryslers (same dealer, franchise next door).

Also had a Fiat Uno 1100 that we attempted to kill a couple of times but I finally wrote off on an icy road one morning thanks to a stupid driver coming the other way....

1990 Ford Fiesta Popular 950 was probably the worst car we had in terms of being most basic.....

Having had one too the 1800 Princess was ohc not ohv - it was the BL 'O'-Series engine and was pretty sweet, if underpowered. Worst thing about the Princess was no power steering which made it ridiculously heavy to manoeuvre.

Did it have a liking to a drop of oil?

Never owned anything myself that sticks out but my Dad had a Skoda Estelle followed by a Kia Pride. He slammed the door once on the Skoda and the window fell out. The Kia had a gearstick like a 1960 mini. When he died, i gave it to the local fire brigade for practice.
