Pah, who needs runflats when you can have a blow out this spectacular..

And it be a complete non drama...

Happened at motorway cruising speed and no loss of control or anything. I was actually able to drive for a few hundred metres.

On the way home!

They got well used but had a look round before driving home and when returning suspension back to road settings.

Perhaps if I hadn't just thrashed the pants off it. Mind you I did just buy them from Some dodgy geezer called Mark...

Did you have a spare with you or wait for recovery? Not sure the tyre gunk would be much use there!

Glad it wasn't a drama as that's a proper blow out.

I don't think a can of slime and a compressor will fix that and get you home. Glad you were OK, I assume it was a rear

Wow! Glad you're all ok. Impressive that control was maintainable. Extra load side walls are fairly robust. I bet somebody behind you got a bit of a shock!

Waiting for BMW recovery now. I'm surprised at how little drama there was.

Glad you're OK mate!

Also glad the MPSS are safe in a blow out too! Were you doing 70 or a speed you'd rather not disclose?

No, just a steady cruise... Had plenty of thrills earlier!

Nice! Are they taking you home and you'll put one of your winter wheels on until you get a replacement tyre?

Taking me home. My wheels and tyres are sitting in my garage. These were Mark's wheels and tyres that I'd just bought!

Nice to know the service does work when it's needed.

Any damage to wheel or bodywork ?

Glad you are OK, could have been a different scenario.

Do you think the tyre(s) have been overheated? The way the tyre has parted gives a clue it may be the case.

Yeah I think it's safe to guess that some sort of heat fatigue damaged it. It's a clockwise track and so the front right would take the biggest pounding.
