jb4 for 340 experiences needed

I'm considering getting the jb4 for my 340 but I have zero experience modding a car and I'm curious what kind of effects I can expect with this.

from what I understand, I get the power and torque addition without having to do any extra mods. I'm really not looking to go and do anything else to the car in regards to exhaust or intake. will that be ok for me to just plug and play and enjoy the added performance? should I be expecting any residual damage to the engine or other components due to driving the car with the jb4?

any comments would be much appreciated.

My opinion is that if you go the JB4 route it would be smart to wait and see what issues arise with the new B58 engine. Last thing you want is a dealer to screw you when something happens. That's just me though.

As for the mod, JB4 is about as simple as they come

We sold a ton , all positive feedback .. The B58 is a very solid engine that can take a lot more pressure

Lots are running JB4 + Downpipes + intake + E85 making more power without any issues. With Jb4 only, you are very safe

Lots of dealers on this forum including us offer 14 days money back guarantee on this product. Give it a try and let us know how it goes

positive feedback with no issues? I saw a video somewhere that they had to change their spark plugs due to the added power. now that was a 335 engine, I believe the n55, so I don't know if should be expecting things like that.

I actually think the JB4 is a pretty safe mod for a noob to modding. The instructions are detailed, you have a ton of support from people on the post and the guys at Berger are quite responsive if you run into trouble on the install. That said, goj has a point that we dont know if there are going to be any existing B58 issues that are exacerbated by adding boost.

If you do go for it, stick to the basic/recommended maps - you will DEFINITELY appreciate the bump in power. Just be aware that you may want to take it out every time you get the car serviced (personally, i would take it out). So that extra 15-30 minutes before and after a service can get old for some people. But once you have the procedure down its no big deal.

question on that....won't they know by looking into the computer system of the car that I've been running some sort of mod to the car even if I take it out. wouldn't it leave some sort of trace....I could just be talking out of my ass here but I don't know.

I had just installed it on my 335i, and honestly, it took me about 45mins to an hour as I have no idea wtf is going on in the engine bay, but following the instructions, it was great.

I ran into some firmware update problems but the support from the email was outstanding, found out it was the JB4 app on their end.

Car pulls and I'm going to have to do some logs to see if I have any problems or not.

To be honest, you'll take your time installing it at first, but now it legit takes me 5 minutes or less to install or remove the JB4. It's really that easy.

Just make sure you have a T50 bit.

This is a question I was wondering as well.

Or even if it's not for service, say it's for an actual engine problem even though the problem has nothing to do with the jb4. If it is removed, would they still be able to detect it and blame it on that?
