Gas Pedal Grinding/Rattling noise?
So i've been hearing a grinding/rattling noise on my car since I bought and just now realized that it is actually two different noises that I am hearing. The first noise i when I shift and I think it is just a normal noise that I am not to worried about.
The second noise that I realized today was from when i put a little pressure on the gas and then let off. The noise occurs when i let off the pedal. It is not very loud and I am trying to decide if it is more of a small grinding or slipping, or a rattling noise. (leaning towards grinding) Some information that might help in making a diagnosis: 1) I hear the noise in gears 1-4 (haven't tried 5-6), and its when i just have a slight bit of pressure on the gas and then let up. 2) I do not hear it when i rev the engine in neutral 3) The noise occurs regardless of if i have just shifted or not. 4) I don't notice the noise when i let off on the gas after hard acceleration, however this may be due to other engine noises blocking the sound? I'm not sure if this is really anything to worry about and it is a very quiet noise. I've looked at some other threads on "grinding" but haven't seen run across any of them that relate directly to the gas pedal. Thanks for any input you guys might have!

try revving ur car in neutral up to 3-4k rpm and letting off, tell us if u can still hear this "sound" when the rpms are coming down.
driving permits too many variables this way u can take some out. |

sounds like you need to clean that area...might have some sand or dirt at the throttle pedal from daily use of pedal with shoes or sneakers, in which dirt and sand can build up there...I clean mine from time to time....Lots of sand and tiny particles on the base and under the throtte padal..

The sound does not occur even if i rev the engine up to 4k rpm in neutral.
Also, it is more of a metal grinding/rattling noise and I do clean the throttle pedal so I doubt it has anything to do with dirt
