That is what i did, golf tee mod is just a generic name for the mod, some use bb's ball bearings, zip ties, screws. it's all been done.

I just followed some other DIY and unplugged some plug that was somewhere near my left rear tail light. It just keeps the left tail pipe open (like a butterfly valve) at all times. It's a bit easier than all the other ways that involve golf tee and zip ties. I've I'm taking it in for service, I just plug that thing back in and I'm back to stock. There's no CEL's or anything ever.

If you have a small enough zip tie, you don't even have to kink it. I used a 'stealth' (black ) one from my RC cars.

Go to home depot. Get a 7/32 socket set screw. Use allen wrench to install set screw into rubber tube deep enough to put tube back onto exhaust . If you want to remove set screw just unscrew it at any time. Simple and quick.

I used a screw cover (little rubber thing) that you buy from Home Depot. $0.20

Cap the metal with the rubber thing. Put the hose back on over the rubber. Works like a charm.

This photo is from changing my Black Lines. If you look at the two sets of wires, one if for the Tail Light the other is the Plug for the Exhaust. Very easy to do.
