Toyo Proxes R888

Hey guys, I'm upgrading the twins soon but I need new rubber NOW!

I'm going to get Forgestar F14 Wheels (19x8.5 ET32/19x10 ET38)
and wrap them in Toyo Proxes R888 245/35/19 and 295/30/19

Are the tire widths to great or does it not matter? I wanted a 255 for the front tire but Toyo doesn't make one for that width.

Thanks in advance,
Kev

I'm looking at the r888's as well but in smaller sizes. I'm also considering the pilot sport cup 2 as they have better sizes for my set up. I currently run this...

235-35-19 and 265-30-19

The sizes you mentioned have a huge gap between the front and rear. However you wheels are pretty different as well. I personally wouldn't go more than 3 tires sizes between the front and the rear. What your suggesting is 5.

I'm looking at that setup myself. Rear will be tight and probably need a roll and a stretch. Front depending on camber, lowering, etc. Should be OK. You didn't list enough parameters to be sure. Year, body style, suspension mods, camber settings, etc.

R888s don't have either 255 and 275 tire sizes. So are you saying these would be a better fitment?

19x8.5 ET32 245/35/19

19x10 ET38 265/35/19

Will 265 on 10 inch wide wheel look stretched?
What are the wheels specs that you plan on wrapping R888s in?

Some of that info is in my sig 2012 E92, stock M-Sport suspension, stock camber settings, and the rear fenders are rolled. What do you think about the difference in tire widths, 245 in front and 295 in the rear?

I guess this is an option as well

19x8.5 ET32 265/30/19 (Is 265 too big for a 8.5 wide wheel?)

19x10 ET38 295/30/19

265 I highly doubt will fit the front. 255 people have often destroyed their plastic fenders. 245 is typically the max front for an e92/93. I don't see an issue front to back difference. Depends on what you want the car to do. For max handling autocross guys would recommend a square setup, 245-17 on each corner. What you have proposed is max grip for acceleration. I'm running 235-275 now. I'm going to 245-295 or 305 myself. I don't see an issue and 235-275 isn't much different than 245-295 combo. 265 front would perform like crap too. Giant boat anchors on the fronts relative to 235 or 245. Besides, a big stagger looks mean. Stretchy guys will know your car is serious, not a pretty boy.

I run 245/295, but I don't track the car or anything so I don't really know if there is an imbalance. During aggressive driving, car still handles well, doesn't really understeer too much.

Originally I wanted to have autocross, drag racing, highway pulls, etc. But being that I'm getting these wheels, I'll only be doing drag racing and highway pulls.

What are your wheel specs, do you have any pics?

The wheels I'm looking at to fit that are 19x8.5 et 30 front, 19x11 et43 rear. I'm sure other combos will work.

I see, I'm just worried about destroying my handling capabilities.

You should be fine. Little more understeer. Just add gas to compensate. Basically the front will grip the same. The rear will grip better. So instead of going into a 4 wheel slide you'll start understeering at the same spot but you can compensate with some gas to kick the back a little. Just brake earlier and power out earlier. Personally I like hammering earlier in a corner but I'm weird like that.

That's what I'm afraid of...maybe I do need more understeer with the power that I will be pushing

Who is doing your tuning? MHD or PTF?

Wider than pss? Hmm. I don't see a 275/30-19 on them. It would be 265. I'm more worried about the 245 for the front Did they clear?

You must be running 18's Feuer? I couldn't find the rs3's in a 19 inch at 275-30-19? That would have been one of my top choices.

The r888 setup I'm looking at is
235-35-19 and 265-30-19

Let me know OP how the 45's work for you. I do know the r888's run wide. It will be close. I'd like to hear about the noise and wet traction as well.
