Unable to access any online services on new (to me) BMW 435
Hi guys,
I've just picked up a 2 year old (2014) 435i convertible from an independent dealer in the UK. On collection there was an SOS services disabled message soon after startup which they said needed to be coded at a dealer. After getting the car home none of the services which use the onboard SIM seem to be active, which I assumed was due to the car perhaps having been de-registered by the previous owner. I tried to add the car to my existing BMW Assist/Connected Drive account but was unable to - it said a security code had been sent to the car and would be visible in the messages section of the Connected Drive menu, but I don't have any messages option on that menu. Any suggestions please as to what I need to do as I'm stumped!! Thanks in advance... |

This may test if the car's sim is talking to BMW. From the idrive main menu > ConnectedDrive>press the Options button or idrive right. Select "Your Service" then there is an option "Update BMW Services" with an option "Data Transfer" below it - this shows any "progress" if you leave the "update" screen".
I lost all "BMW Services" and this brought them back - I think the issue was not driving into an area with a strong mobile phone signal for over a week. If it works repeat it - I got a second download. The downloads are small files 5-7k and one was for RTTI |
