Haha, I am sure that with the refresh in 2009 or 2010, we will see a ZHP with 10 more HP... probably cams or something... not software.

It actually just got released. My dealer just got three of them. Look under the BMWUS website under the "M" section, and you will find it listed as "M3".

It will include software I bet. It would be so easy for them to bump the HP with a little more boost. I agree though, no Flash for cars already sold but they will definitley do a ZHP model with probably more HP, maybe different color option, alcantera steering wheel and brake/suspension upgrade and maybe LSD, then charge like 7-10 grand for it pricing it right between the M3 and the 335i coupe.

Any chance there will be a BMW performance set up at the NY Auto show later this month. I mean it would be a pretty good place to show off your new products and get excitement for a release. Im interested in the BMW intake, and supposed suspension package for the Xi's. If the flash is true, id be interested, i just hope no oil cooler is required.

You probably will have to buy MY2010 to get same motor and a mild flash.
Midlife power upgrade in 2010 I think it will be less than Dinan and V2 levels too. If you want a flash, get Dinan, you'll wait for BMW untill hell freezes over. Why would they offer it now? The cars are selling very strongly. Leaves room for future engine upgrades too. And majority of the people see the after market solutions as unofficial and wont touch them even with a warranty. They will buy the next model year with a power bump. Power is power. If I can have it cheaply and safely, I am all in. Its all marketing, go get your flash if you want one.

Take this for what it's worth (which may be nil): A Parts Manager at a local BMW dealership tells me that his contact in the R&D/Parts Department of BMWUSA says that BMW is considering offering such a reflash of the 335i ECU (I'm apparently not the first to have asked), but that no decision has been made and that the earliest you would see such a reflash offered would be October-November of this year.
I would normally discard his comments, but this Parts Manager has been dead-on in the past with other things he's told me. Nevertheless, as with most things in life, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. BMWUSA has probably considered such a reflash, but I have to agree with those above that it is unlikely to see the light of day.

I think it will happen because benz is supposed to turbo the 350 in the C350 and it is rumored to be putting out around 350HP. Perhaps BMW thinks they should do this at around the same time as MB as opposed to letting them have a leg up. My .02$
