mfactory twin plate clutch
So mfactory have finally released their twin plate to the market!
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...1077622&page=2 I believe their price is $1500 which sure sounds like a great price, albeit curious to see what friction material they've used and how it compares to the spec product! |

Surely they seen the spec issues and made full faced discs.
Mines pretty noisy. Mfactory provide good service for lsds so hope these are just as successful Last edited by Brule; 06-10-2019 at 11:20 PM.. |

Technically, they are 6-puck, but they are actually full-face with small "ridges/gaps" in them.
You can see them in the image above if you look along the edge of the discs. |

It's hard to make a cerametallic full-face due to warpage during heat treatment, hence why we've had to make these "ridges/gaps". This is also why most proper full-face discs are organic. With our new compound/design, we are trying to find the compromise between performance (i.e cerametallic) and driveability (i.e full-face) Whilst we are working on a street-spec (i.e organic discs + lighter diaphragm), we want to finish testing the current version to the limit first. |

There is another twin plate alternative from xtreme clutches but its a puck clutch for race use and will have a short life being ceramic friction materiel
http://www.xtremeclutch.com.au/en/ http://online.autoinfo.com.au/oscar/...8BCA6FD2015979 I believe these are around $1500 usd also Last edited by DR-JEKL; 04-19-2016 at 12:38 AM.. |

Kevlar will slip more, but won't hold as much torque as Cerametallic. We are looking into Organic vs Kevlar for the Street-spec.
We are using a Steel Flywheel with all of our clutches. As for the tq capability, we have still to test this to the limit. |

there is little to no slip and a narrow engagement point, both to be expected. there is a lot more shock to the driveline also to be expected. it bites hard and the rattle is only at idle and youll get some light clatter at low rpms in higher gears the only difference afaik is the street version is sprung. |
