Hexon Inlets - Pending Pre and Post dyno - Pics

Hey guys,

Just wanted to create a brief thread with a few photos of the Hexon Inlets that just arrived. These are the hard pipe inlets:

http://www.hexonautowerks.com/produc...?pg=&PdSearch=

Pre inlet install dyno is pending as well as post. I'm getting these installed next weekend (Not in the mood to work on my car anymore), so thread mainly reserved for results, but here are some photos of the inlets. Really like how the front pipe has a bracket to hold it in place. Quality seems to be great. Once shipped, they arrived in 4 days I believe which was quite shocking that it made it through customs so fast. Looking forward to getting these installed, but also on the numbers.

It certainly is haha. I decided to go with the pipes because of the longevity. Some people have different preferences, but fortunately I'm not installing these lol.

Don't...you'll chock the turbos on air starvation and your wgdc will sky rocket. If you want an enclosed air intake system get the ECS Tuning CF intake system with some air scoops

Will look into that, thanks for the heads up! I just bought a set of Cyba Air Scoops for my DCI's, so probably don't need the enclosed system yet. Really need to save for an LSD ultimately lol.

Have you tested this? There is a guy here in Australia doing RR700s, inlets and stock airbox. I suggested to put a 4mm vacuum hose nipple on the airbox and hook up to boost gauge to measure vacuum and test the pressure drop.

I'm building a fabricated Aluminium Mr.5 intake but opens right up horizontally, squishes down vertically and enters the airbox on a downwards pointing 45 degree angle so that the air isn't shooting in on a 90 degree angle to the rest of the airflow.

Have you had a chance to look at my email?

How is the stock airbox + inlets worse than stock inlets + any intake the ecs intake looks nice but the dyno numbers are pitiful the gains are where the stock turbos are completely out of steam anyways

The dinan intake or mr5 is the best design

I don't think anyone has tested this. Mostly the vendors say this because they are starving and need to advertise their intakes every chance they get. The stock box really isn't bad. I have a set of DCI and they seem to be a total waste.

I have tested the ECS tuning Carbon Fiber intake box up to 25 PSI on stock turbos. So in theory even though the Hexon RR600 push more air if your gonna stay 21-20 PSI on them (530-550 whp) then you should be ok.

Sorry, I saw your review/testing with the ECS intake. I was referring to the stock airbox.

Not with upgraded turbos, but indeed with stock turbos

Without any changes to the tune (although recommended to have done), this was before and after with the stock intake with K&N drop in filter vs another after market CAI with better flowing air.

The after market CAI was at a disadvantage as it was tested in hotter temps and still produced more power over the stock intake.

Thanks for that. I really need to get some motivation to build this secondary intake pipe before my turbos arrive!

Mine's going to be a pretty mild setup because I'll probably only run 17psi initially so I don't have to deal with PCV, catch can and charge pipe upgrades. It'll be intesesting to see what I can get out of it nonetheless with RR600s, inlets, E25, 12.5:1, lots of timing and dyno tuned VANOS. Should still kill stock turbo setups that run much more boost and it'll carry its power all the way to redline.

I have the inlets installed and hexon hybrid 1+ turbos installed as well. It was a tight fit for the front inlet. I will keep y'all posted on how the car runs

Please do - I'm very interested in the 1+ and am dying to know user impressions and how they've been working out
