M4 GTS KWCS settings?

Being that the GTS uses a KWCS 3 way coilover set-up, is there any literature showing the exact specs of the suspension set-up for the track they've used to get those amazing times? (alignment, damper settings, etc.)

Yes, that wil come in a book with car. Stock setting is Nurburgring record lap setting in terms of suspension. That setting is max out on frontlip and rear wing. Nurburgring is a normal road that, hence that suspension setting will be ok for street as well( except frontlip due to diffrent regulations in law i guess. they got flat modern ractrack setting also in book for us to set up. Love it:-)

I'm rubbish at this techy stuff

What is High speed compression and low Speed compression for example?

High speed as in it will compress quicker (less resistance?)

They are not the same. The GTS coilovers are valved differently, different springs, different top mounts and different springs seats. Pretty much the only thing in common is that they use the same strut body.

This pic shows it pretty well, just look at that solid ball bearing top mount in the rear, and the lower spring seats in the front.

And this is just 1 reason why you can't take a M4, buy some parts(kWCS3 example) and build a GTS

agreed, although I have to admit, it would be interesting to see someone to take one of the named "GTS Plus" cars created on the forums or from scratch (to try and recreate it w mods), and take it head to head on a track somewhere. Honestly, not a half bad idea for an episode on any of these shows, DRIVETRIBE should pick up the idea!

The GTS is not just about lap times. It's about having a car that can be driven daily, with reliability of a 4 years warranty from BMW. It's also about having a car where all the parts tested to work together even in extreme temperatures or any climate conditions. When you get into a M4 GTS, and drive it for the first time, the car just feels special and that feeling cannot be explained.

Thanks for this explanation

Would you Chaps say that the recommended settings for road suggested by the factory are pretty spot on?

I would say lower springs to "track" height and leave dampers alone. If you do not have too many clearance issues. The car does not feel quite right in high setting. Anyone else feel this way?

Yup. After we lowered it to "track" setting, it felt more planted and the steering was just that much more fluid.

That seems like a pretty big jump in stiffness, very interesting.
