Wheel Spin in a Diesel ?
There are various thoughts on here about whether you need to run in a diesel.
I for one have tried to be restrained and broke the recommended 1200 mile point today. Funnily enough did 1202 when I got to my first appointment, that's good I thought, done it by the book. Let her cool down and then after it gets up to temperature I will extend it to see what the acceleration is like. But it sods law isn't it, just when you get the urge there is slow traffic every where and I was on single carriage ways so no real chances of overtaking without looking a knob. But............. Almost home coming out of 30 onto a bit of national speed limit with some sort of 1.0 litre postman pat type car in front and I thought, bugger it, last chance to get past it and planted the throttle, as I said although I was doing 30 the bloody thing felt like the outside rear spun up,or it could have been both, shot past the car and then immediately slowed to 60. The road contortions were dry and the Tarmac was in good condition. My questions is did it and is a 335d X drive capable of spinning up.

Well, road contortions or not the x drive on my 335 has not spun once in dry or wet, and I love using the loud pedal. I haven't played in ice or snow yet.
From 30mph I think traction is so good that you could never spin but from a standstill?? Sometimes setting off with heavy right foot and in the wet I can feel the transfer very quickly sort itself and away I go. Very confidence inspiring. BTW I did run mine in for 2000 miles before I let rip. Dunno if it was necessary but better safe than broke! |

OP, FS stands for For Sale not "For Fuck's Sake...wheel spin in a diesel".

In the wet with tc totally off I've had all 4 spinning on a few occasions. You'd be struggling in the dry though, can't think mine's ever done it unless a serious amount of corner is involved.
