Morning all

Does anybody with business nav have the gps tracking option on their iDrive list that you can turn on and off?

I believe you only get Remote Services; which gives you the GPS tracking; with Pro Nav.

Not the case anymore! I have remote services on my business nav and now gps tracking showing available after updating my connected drive! This affects cars built from 07/2014 onward

So answered my own question

I paid £50 for remote services but had the limitation of 1.5km, so contacted connecteddrive team and they just said update the connected drive in the car

The trafic and concierge were £10 each, but don't really need them.

Have to test it properly when I am good distance away from the car, but should be fine now

That's really useful to know then for some of the guys who are stuck on the 1.5km limit.

You'll be popular

Steve, follow these steps in iDrive:
1. Go to connected drive
2. Press options
3. Update BMW services

It should show trasfering data or something like that, and then done.

By doing this you should get a GPS tracking option. Go to main menu, then settings; the last option after software update should be gps tracking.

Mine didn't show straight away but when I started the car, it did. Then I just ticked the box enabling the option.

Hope this helps

When doing insurance quotes do you select on the list of options that you have GPS tracker as technically we do because of connected drive.

I will be asking the very same question when my renewal is due! I doubt they will consider it but worth a try

It's not a tracker though. A tracker lets you , er, track it when it's moving. This does not. It's a "locator" which is different. It can be easily turned off too.

It is also not approved as said.

I wouldn't declare it as a tracker as the insurance would do anything to get round paying out if the worst happened and your car went missing.

Just my 2p worth.

Fully aware this is not a tracker and will not mention that it is! But while they charge me for optional extras fitted at the point of build, they might consider a discount for a locator! As mentioned a coupke of times, no harm in asking

I just rang them up about this and they said they cannot remove the 1.5km limit as the system is not designed to be like a tracker. Sounds very different from what they told you! Frustrating...

I have a f31 with business nav

Does the £10 upgrade for traffic give you RTTI ?

And, where did you get that quote ?

Was quoted £250 to update it to connected drive
