340i without Navigation?

Can anyone confirm what exactly is different between a non-navigation based and the navigation based iDrive system? I ordered my car without navigation and it's bundled with a bunch of stuff and I'm wondering what specifically I won't be able to do.

Thanks!

In the United States you don't get the bigger navigation display, no navigation, BmW online connected stuff, heads up display, and the enhanced dash display.

Will I still have the ability to use Spotify with the radio? I know it integrates quite nicely.

If you have EBT then you should be able to stream Bluetooth audio, however the bit rates are a bit naff. If you want proper Spotify iDrive integration then you'll need option 6NR. Last time I checked you needed the pronav.

I really like the enhanced dash, which is why I went for it.

Yeah, I'm slowly realizing that I might have made a mistake by not getting the navigation. On the 340i, it's all packaged together with the "Technology Package". You can no longer select EBT a la carte.

But other threads are suggesting that since MY2015, you can use BT audio with the base iDrive system.

As you car is latest spec, sounds like you will have the HU_ENTRYNAV. I'm sure you can just code on EBT. It also means you should be able to whack on the 8.8" screen.

Pop up a new message in rgds to EBT coding, up on the coding forum. I have the NBT so can't tell you if it work 100%.

Thanks, I will do that. Can you please clarify exactly what HU_ENTRYNAV is?

It's current version of iDrive without nav. In fact the business nav is the same unit, but has the correct FSC code to enable navigation. Chances are the rear external connectors like GPS are missing!

Awesome, thanks for the clarification. So the NBT was the previous gen of iDrive?

NBT is the current version of the pronav. It's sometimes referred as HU_NBT. There is a more advanced version with the EVO tag but it's still an NBT.

The previous version of the pronav was HU_CIC.

Got it, they sure know how to make it confusing! Mine is called ENTRYNAV even though it doesn't have nav! You guys are lucky in the UK. Nav is now standard on anything +MY2015!

Just following up on this again. Does anyone know if the BMW Apps can be enabled via coding with the HU_ENTRYNAV? I'm looking around and it's suggesting that you must have navigation already. I don't have navigation so I'm wondering if it's possible at all.

I really only care about the Spotify integration, which would be awesome.

Are you talking about just regular music steaming or the BMW app of Spotify running through iDrive?

Just regular music streaming. With non-nav, it's pretty limited on the choices that will work.

All 2016 models have bluetooth streaming. Apps are a different story.

Any tips of where to get the screen from? I looked on eBay and places like that, and they all seem shitty.
