Gxx are 2017 and utilize a new CAS platform with heavily encrypted short range Wi-Fi with remote device recognition. The ADAC finding is quite old actually. The BMW problem with Comfort Access was closed a long time ago. The BMW Assist security hole was addressed in 2015 before it even became official. Eventually a new hole will be discovered and steps will have to be taken to address. It's one of the downsides to technology and something society will have to live with forever.

How could the Gxx cars be 2017? They started producing them in the Summer of 2015 for delivery in Fall 2015 (I believe deliveries began toward the end of October 2015).

Who steals cars for profit in US? Does anyone even hear those stories? Europe, very much so, here...dont think so.

Joy rides and vandalism yeah, but not gangs with sophisticated methods like the one in the video.
