UR Muffler (Section 3)
So I just had the UR catback installed, and the install went really smoothly it fit perfectly with no modifications needed. I was a little disappointed to see that the mufflers themselves were mangnaflow brand, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I was under the impression they made the entire system.
The sound is good it is very deep and throaty, but for some reason I feel like (flame suite on) it needs a little more rasp, or at least some mid-high end sound. I feel like the exhaust seems to cut out past 5000 rpm and anything under that is so deep that it vibrates any part that can rattle in my car. So my question is, what can I do to this setup to get a little bit more high end sound? Catless DP is out of the question as I want my car to be able to pass emissions. I am considering possibly swapping out just the section 3 with an Eisenmann Sport or Race and just selling the old mufflers. Is this an option or is the section 2 piping too different. Does any one else have any suggestions that might be cheaper? Again I hope this does not come across as a negative review, because their product is very well built, the sound is good, and so far their customer service has been great! I am just not sure if I am totally satisfied with the note it produces. |

I too was a little dissapointed that they were magnaflow, but the sound couldn't be better.

Are you sure your mean UR Muffler (Section 3). IIRC, the UR exhaust is a full catback (sec 1,2,3). Your best bet would be to get a new muffler or i think i remember there being a x pipe on the UR exhaust so you can get rid of that too.
But +1 to what Mr. 5 said. I was pretty sad they used magnaflow mufflers but it sounds very very nice. Probably one of my favorite sounding exhausts |

Yea I do have the full catback (1,2,3), I am talking about swapping out just the muffler section itself (the magnaflow piece). I do love the deep throaty sound it produces, just looking for a little more "shape" to the over all sound. To me it sounds a little muted, almost how your stereo would sound if you turned the mid and treble down all the way.
But now I am leaning towards just trying a HF Downpipe to see if that helps bring a little more shape to the sound. I dont suppose any body else is running a full turboback setup (with catted dp's) from Ulitimate Racing? Mr. 5 are you running the same muffler? |
