Looks like a new type of speed camera. Used in Scotland but sure to spread everywhere once it brings in the £££.

I agree, if you are speeding on a 30 you should get more than 3 points to be fair. I take care on 30 and 40 limits. Above that I go above within reason.

Had the pleasure of driving through a 50 MPH average speed camera section of road yesterday. There's just something soul sucking about them. Also, people seem to loose all sense of awareness and think just because you're doing 50, they can get right up your arse with zero braking distance. Constant unsafe feeling when I go through them due to those muppets.

Yes those zones always leave me puzzled. You see the people who brake when they see the specs cameras. Clearly no understanding of average. You see the people who clearly go in excess of even 60mph. Is it because they are foreign and dodge the tickets? You get stuck behind those doing like 40 in the right hand lane. etc etc.

I just find it such a pain that where I live every road is gradually becoming slower. National speed limit country roads reduced to 40. Dual carriageways reduced to 40. Eventually it'll be 30 and 20 zones everywhere except for the motorways which will probably be covered in 50 zone av. speed check zones.
Smart motorways. Money making baloney.

I had the opportunity to drive home via the cat & fiddle route, on Wednesday.

They have put 50mph average speed cameras on it!

What a disappointing drive that has become.

An to top it all, the fecking cat & fiddle was shut!
