Have most people taken their winter tyres off?

Don't want to get caught out....but the weather (In Glasgow) has improved and thinking of putting the summer tyres on.

What have others done?

I wouldn't want to be premature!!!!

Mine are still on but come Easter w/end will be off, just haven't had the time yet.
In fairness the weather here hasn't really justified them, but as they were in the garage I just thought it would be rude not to have tried them out !!

Ahh comfort

Me neither. I do accept they make perfect sense in some parts of the country but I suspect a lot of owners didn't have or use them prior to the bad winter we had back in 2010 and have been trying to justify an on-going need for them ever since.....

I've managed with no winter tyres and weekly trips from Glasgow to the highlands all through winter and no problems so far (except 1 snow covered car park on a slope). Drove the a82 from tyndrum to fort William with a few inches of untouched snow I was the first car and it was all fine. If you don't drive like a nob then I think you can do without them.... It could be my 320d doesn't generate enough power to need them.

I used to put my winter tyres on at the beginning of the first month that had the letter R in it after the summer months. SeptembeR, then kept them on until the following month came around that didn't have the letter R in its name. May. That was when we had 4 seasons. Now we have just one.... They are all alike..... Shite.
Winter tyres on... 1st September.
Winter tyres off... 1st May.

Now i have just taken delivery on my 335d, i am on the lookout for some new winter wheels. Either 397's or 400m's (18's) Ready for September.
