Manual Trans Fluid Swap?

Any manual M235i owners done a trans fluid swap yet?
I'm curious because irrc the 1M required a 1200mi fluid swap from the dealer, and I believe the 1M GS6-45BZ gearbox is the same as the 235i.

My car only has about 13k miles, but I am wondering if I might see benefits from doing a swap now. Car is not leased so I am considering it, unless someone can tell me that it's far too soon right now.

My car is a 228i,but the MT must be the same as in a M235i. I didn't do it at 1200 miles as a break in fluid change. None of the shops I checked with wanted to it.Since changing it seemed more like OCD than a requirement and I didn't want to crawl under the car on my back to do it myself, I'll just change it every 30K miles as per the old school BMW maintenance schedule.

Yeah, I did it. Very straightforward. Trans oil looked pretty dark at the end of the drain. It's the same trans as the 1M according to realoem.

Here is a link with all of the information.

I am going to do a writeup this weekend when I have my car up on the lift for its engine oil change this weekend.

Thanks! Looking forward to the write-up.

Did you notice any difference in the shifting after doing the fluid swap?
Thinking about trying some Redline MTL

I believe all N20 manual cars have a different gearbox than N54/N55 cars.

Are they heavier duty gearboxes in the N54/N55 cars or are the gear ratios just different? With the very low take rate on MT it wouldn't seem economically feasible to have a lot of comletely different trannies. But what do I know.
