Wow. There was some serious oversteer in the M2. Love that. But in this case... could have shaved off half a second or more imho.

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers

M2 definitely looked a lot more frisky than the Merc. 😎

Clearly less oversteer with the Mercedes.

Cool video. M2 looks like a fun track toy.

Normal, the Mercedes is AWD and the M2 is only RWD. But RWD in this case is surely a lot of fun !

There were 1 or 2 places where M2 oversteered significantly so M2's time could have been better. The driver lost at least half a second at those corners in total.

It's a good video for comparison but that was some fairly sloppy driving. I have to believe that the driver could have done a better lap.

I wonder if the CLA45 was a 2016 with all the updates and the new diff.

I'm torn between these two cars, but AWD is looking pretty good to me even with the relatively easy winter we've had here in WNY.

It's the facelift with 380hp.

Edit: Sorry, forgot the CLA hasn't had a facelift yet, I confused it with the A45.

That M2 is most likely a beaten media example but most likely had somewhat worn tires and had shy of 3/4 fuel tank

That CLA is geriatric in comparison

Yes, the driver could have warmed up the tires in the M2 more and drove more directed in the beginning and could have shaved at least a second off that time

Just waiting on a 4 door version

Current CLA also has the 380hp engine.

Just the look and sound of the M2 sealed the deal before they even started the timer :-)

Seems the AMG is easier to drive, but the M2 is a lot faster - even with some issues on the lap.

This car is much more impressive than the critics (the public) thought it was when it was unveiled. It really doesn't do justice to the name of a Mini M. It's a full fledged M car.
