Curbed my brand new 442M Orbit Grey

An important lesson guys. Please don't let your other halves drive your brand new car unsupervised. she went out for 20 minutes and kurbed my brand new alloy. Does anyone know about repairs and how much it costs?

Birthday present? She's lucky I haven't taken the engagement ring back!!! Is that through BMW? I don't want some random company to do it. She's not even a week old!

Don't let BMW anywhere near it if you want a decent job done!

442M's on a 20d ED all the same that is a bummer indeed. Sadly a fact of life when you let the OH drive the car. I've given up now on asking the OH to look after the wheels, life is to short and now spend the money I would spend on birthday presents and such on myself. They'll never feckin learn will they

No sorry, just got a new 330D. Haven't updated my profile yet. I know it maybe not worth the money, but I just got a brand new car. I couldn't live with it knowing that it was there.

I feel your pain. The only plus point is that you didn't hear the hard grinding, unmistakable sound of lovely shiney alloy being butchered against concrete. It's worse than finger nails on a blackboard!

Be thankful you missed out on that joy...

Get it fixed, and don't keep mentioning it at times where the car is involved in pleasant conversation with friends.

It depends how bad it is. Her Indoors did two wheels on why last car and I found a mobile bloke who worked in smart repair, he came out and cockily said "go on then, let's see if you can tell where the damage was". Honestly I couldn't he did an amazing job and charged 60 barr.

Nice upgrade, well done I know it hurts, but often you'll get them repaired for it to happen again and probably by you. Life is too short. Will a light sandpaper rub help at all, you'll be surprised what looks like a mess can be made to look like with a little elbow work.

I just went to chips away as I was handing it back. It was an good repair but the repaired sections are polished and don't have the cut groves, that's the only reason you can tell.

It was 65 + vat

Engagement ring? Oh dear didn't you know that means what's hers is hers, and what's yours is hers to share

That's the price I was quoted by local coach works place - they do supercars, classic car restoration, all sorts. Seen their work and it's top notch.

My wife did exactly the same on day 2 with our 330i Coupe.

Anyhow, I have had on a couple of occasions used the services of a proper wheel repair company "Reinventing the Wheel" they are superb and also do diamond cut wheels.

The point is, there are companies out there who do an incredible job for a reasonable fee. e.g. I kerbed an 18" Teledial on my Alfa, substantial grazing, the job was done in a day, £80. Bargain and as good as new.

I appreciate that you won't want to do this but I repaired my Mini's curbed alloy with wet and dry sandpaper - I sanded out a load of scrapes on a small area and sanded the lacquer off the rest of the rim, then applied new lacquer. It got past the inspector at hand over time back to the lease people.

A local wheel refurbisher or BMW would sort it. Worse things happen though

Because they will only farm it off to a subcontractor and you'll pay way over the odds for what will progably be a shoddy job!

Lepsons or Pristine Wheels are your best bet
