Canadian iDrive internet/gps tracking

There was no internet or gps tracking under connectedDrive and setting menu when i picked up my f32 last sep until last weekend. It just pop up. I never did a thing to the system, no coding no service. Internet was not working until today. It seem like it just works? What is going on??
I cant login remote app using my ipad and on idrive sys by my connecteddrive account, i called bmw assist centre(sos button in car) they said my car doesn't have ESA ON FLIE???need to go back to dealer to register? Reprogram? Will this take away my "newly developed" gps tracking and internet features?
