Coupe vs. Sedan - exhaust note the same?

I've driven the coupe, the exhaust rocks. Is the sedan the same note? TIA.

Can you share more details:

Which is louder, more aggresive?
How does the sedan compare with the coupe?
Does the sedan sound lame?

TIA

I saw, and heard an e90 pulling up to me the other day. When I heard it, I assumed it was probably a 330.. Then he passed me and it was a 335.. It sounded nice for sure, but a lil bit 'tamer' then the coupe.

335i sedan is definitely quieter than 335i coupe.

Yesterday a 335i passed by me and it was a lot quieter than 335i coupe.
very subtle, but you know something is going on under the hood.
like.. maybe 2 hair dryers that everyone would love to have...

The sedan has resonators which quiet it down, the coupe has none....

Just get an exhaust shop to cut them out and it will sound very much the same...

325/328/330s don't have the distinctive exhaust note that 335 has.

Have you tried this? result?
Will this void the warranty?
Can they be put back if the car is a lease?

It can be put back to stock, just have them cut an inch or so away from each side of the resonators so they can weld it back up. I plan on doing this very soon....

How much do you think a shop will charge for something like this?

And what's the resonators' purpose? Just to keep the exhaust note down?

And does anyone have a pic of what it looks like?

Thanks!

Quick search on google will give you better answer. but yes, main purpose of "resonator(the word says it all)" is to cut down sound DBs, especially in the cabin area. Many cars without resonators/mufflers experience cabin droning noise.

They will probably charge around 60 - 75 bucks at the max. You might as well have them cut out the secondary cats while they are at it....

Will I be able to pass emmissions with the secondary cats cut out?

Sorry guys, I'm new to all this and want to understand.

Thanks!

For sure...

Cutting out the secondary cats and resonators will give you better sound and probably 5-8rwhp....
