I shot the video. For those who live in Atlanta, the demo car will still be there the whole day (Sunday March 6th) at Road Atlanta with a pro driver giving test rides during the Peachtree BMW CCA HPDE. Only one lap, but a very quick one

The video makes it look like the rebound/damping of the M2 is soft. It sort of wiggles and oscillates through the corners, unless that is the driver not being smooth.

Very little body roll in fact. This M2 was on adjustable coilovers and when I went for a test ride on Sunday, I was amazed by how fast, stable and flat it was in the turns. It pulled some serious lateral g's and was only on street tires (Michelin PSS).

I am also in Atlanta for the time being. Is there any M2 at the auto show starting tomorrow?

How does the M Performance setup compare to the stock M2? Still OK for street use?
I'm guessing the springs are only a little stiffer, but the shocks can go much tighter.
There are something like 12 bounce settings and 16 rebound settings.

This is my question as well. Is the M Performance setup unsuitable for daily street duty?

Its a street car on street tires and those oscillations are Mike making corrections looking for grip......

I have not had a ride in a 'stock' M2, but from this (very) limited experience, I would be comfortable having a car with the M Performance suspension as a daily driver (if the roads are in a reasonably OK condition where you live).

I was at the track with my daily driver (F30 335i with PSS10 coilovers and Stage 1 tune).

LOL. Track prepped E46 M3. Fast car... and much lighter than a 747

As the person who drove this little beast down from HQ in NJ, I want to thank everyone who came out to this great event put on by the Peachtree chapter of BMW CCA. I can confirm after driving it 13 hours straight on Monday back to NJ that the ride is very streetable, it was a great ride back North. Special thanks to Mike Renner from the BMW Performance Center in Spartanburg for giving over 100 (fast!) rides to our CCA members!

Thanks for driving M2 all the way down to Atlanta
Just let us know when you need someone to get the car somewhere else
