I've had good luck with Intact, saves me a few hundred a year or so. I think you have to have something like 5 years accident free before they'll take you on. I've heard Farmers is pretty good too from my Broker friend.

hello, im a local commercial insurance broker but i have the inside scoop on private insurance as well.

technically, you're looking for a private insurer. Brokers are the third-party working on your behalf.

with that said, here are a few you may want to check out. (Beacon, Co-operators, BCAA, Premier marine) most of these guys will give you about the same rate. it's just a matter of calling in to find out which one is the cheapest.

You can save a few hundred bucks a year especially if you bundle your home insurance with the same company. I've filed two claims with Intact and both were handled painlessly, loaner car picked me up at the body shop, etc. I just don't like ICBC so I'd rather give my money to someone else.

thx all for the reply. My 12 z4 35is with max discount from icbc is $3000 and 11 e92 335is with max discount is $2400.

will try to go private and see is it worth it to switch.
