I've read a few people use this on their 3's and it works fine.. I thought it was only for diesel engines but apparently it has cleaning agents that work good too for non diesel owners..

In all fairness, the T6 isn't LL-01 approved either. Doesn't make it a bad choice, do a search and you'll see lots of BMW owners using it, in addition to sport bike riders.

That's disappointing, to be sure. I wonder why they would do that, and how long they dropped the rating? I'll have to check my bottles, and look the next time I'm in the store.

M1 doesn't carry acceptable hot oil pressure. If you have something with a gauge, you'd be leaving marks in your shorts after some hard pulls or a 90F day in traffic. The detergents in the T6 have kept my gasoline engines from coaking up turbo's, no sludge issues in my Saabs or Land Rovers and oil coming out of my K2500 with over 300k miles still a nice amber at change time. Just my preference based on years of use, abuse, and oil analysis results. I use it in all my toys whether they have 2, 4, or 10 tyres. |

Yes I've been using this oil since I got the car 2yrs ago.. Have not run anythibg else nor do I plan on running anything else. My brother and 4 of my other friends all using it. Everyone noticed better idle, smoother raving engine and much less engine ticking at idle

Scared of What? It's been on my car for 40k now, my brother has it for 10k,my 2 friends each 10k..thats 70k miles combined of the same oil brand and viscosity in a n54 engine. But this is America where papers do the talking and actual experience doesn't apply

I will use Castrol Syntec over M1 anyday for the same reason stated above. M1 from my experience does not carry enough oil pressure when hot. I have run 5w50 Syntec in my 67 MG since the 90's. I have 7 vehicles in my fleet, so the T6 with similar oil analysis results allows cheaper maintenance on the remaining 6 vehicles (one of them takes 22 quarts). If I can get the Syntec cheap, it goes in the Chevy K over the summer months also. The T6 is in the others all year long.

Not that I think your lieing... I have heard the same thing you are saying on BITOG... I just need someone who I know who has done it or paper from a trusted source to confirm that this is legit and safe to do. I might try it on my pickup truck at first. Update: I just found this old thread with someones report: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=536574&page=2 Last edited by fazman; 03-09-2016 at 11:13 AM.. |
