Who's gonna wrap?

Cuz I can tell ya, I wanted VO very badly, and was willing to pay for custom paint from the factory. Alas, it's not an option.

I'm going Avery Gold Orange Pearl. Very VO-ish. Love it:

I probably will at some point. Did matte grey on my last M3, I'm thinking maybe satin white or something.

That's a killer color. Does anyone make a wrap in that color?

That would be awesome. I think that's one of the only Sunburst Orange cars ever made, no?

That is something I have been thinking of. I can't find any pictures of LBB with stealth though. I wonder how much it will mute the color change under light from the flake?

I'm assuming they will open up individual next year. Maybe wait? M3/M4 was same way at launch.

How long does wrap last before it wears down? Is maintenance similar to paint? Always wondered about living with wrap.

It all depends on the factory they're built at. The current factory doesn't cater for custom paint jobs.

Take care of it and it'll easily last 5+ years, depending on the type of wrap and the conditions you live in. Matte wears down quicker. Where I am we have no worries of snow. I can imagine scraping ice and snow off could easily tear through the vinyl. But we deal with a damn strong sun, which can fade it quicker.

So what does taking care of it entail? Just wash regular wash and wax as if it were paint?

Yeah regular wash is a must with vinyl. There are some things that kill it, like bird droppings. They'll leave marks on the vinyl quickly if you don't clean it up fast. Even more so on matte wraps.

Satin grey for me with silver 437's and ///M stripe through one of the bumper air intakes.

Think frozen grey E92 Competition.

Has anyone tried a coating like Opti-coat or CQuartz on the vinyl? That would help protect it better providing it would adhere to it. Would make cleanings easier too if it worked. I have CQuartz on all my cars and is insanely good at protection.

Interested in this thread only providing I can get an allocation and the color isnt my wifes 1st choice.

I honestly wouldn't bother personally. If a piece of vinyl tears or rips, you've wasted your coating. It'd be easier to just replace a piece of vinyl rather than going down the path of protecting it.

Vinyl is also pretty easy to clean.

Today I received specifications for a partial XPel Ultimate treatment.
Full hood, headlamps and mirrors, front bumper, rocker panel : 2700€ - 3000$
Isn't that extremely expensive?
