Sstt Install

Hey guys I tried searching already, and I saw Brisk did up DIY up on install of the SSTT but his pics arent there no more. I remember seeing alot of pics before I got my car. Because I opened the hood today too take a peak and I was like . Can anyone find or know where to get that REALLY DETAILED writeup? Also im only at 150 miles when should I put the SSTT in? Should I wait til the 1200 mile break in? Thanks in advance

Do your break-in miles then change the oil. After that, install the SSTT. Or better yet, drive it around a little harder after the oil change so you can really get a feel for the car stock, first, before you add boost. If you never have a feel for the car stock, the boost will be less dramatic and you might even wonder if the SSTT was even worth it.

Thanks guys for the respnses. And Brisk for the DIY. Thats what I was thinking of doing was the oil at 1200 and then add the SSTT in after a few hundred miles of stock driving.

BTW Brisk I cant help and look at your avatar. Who is that chick? Is she famous or your GF?

Depending on where you got your TT it should have come with a guitar pick. WE find that to be the easiest tool to use in order to safely remove the unit.

Thanks and enjoy!

Very true, you have to remove it successfully a couple of times before you can wrap your mind around the functionality of the clip itself. One thing I noticed is that you really dont have to be afraid to pull on the wire once you have the clip arm lifted, it just needs a little tug and it slides right out.

It really is annoying not being able to see what you're doing, or even doing it one handed. But I did figure out a way to get my two arms in there. Left a couple of bruises but got the job done.

Can you guys send me a guitar pick? I just want one. Install/uninstall is a breeze but I want a SSTT guitar pick.

Man, that dang thing took me an hour to do. I think I was being overly cautious and didn't want to break the clip. I was cursing and finished 3 Diet Dew before I decided the one arm approach wasn't working. I also inserted both arms at once and finally got it off.

My clip broke while installing mine. Not a big deal. Today I brought my e92 in for a service and since I have a relationship with my mechanic I didn't have to bother taking off the TT. He even put measured the horsepower boost at +50 over stock readings. He was amazed at the power curve increase and loved the pull the engine displayed while driving it.
