Longtime E46 Member with new 2011 335xi Deep Sea Blue!
Checking in...
I just picked up this baby today...to replace my beloved E46 330i. This 335xi is my third BMW 3 Series making me the official owner of the E36, E46 and E90 generations back to back. Had I been older I would have had an E30 at the front of that list. Had I been richer an F30 at the bottom of that list. Nothing beats a 3 Series for driving pleasure! With the birth of my recent baby girl I realize the need for all wheel drive and fold down rear seats as well as rear air bags. It is a one-owner clean carfax Deep Sea Blue and comes with 42k on the clock. I won't even say it's loaded because it actually has less features than my outgoing E46 such as NO seat back net pockets, NO Cubby Storage/Ashtray, NO Standard Harmon Kardon and NO rear power window sunshade and NO Parking Sensors for starters. I have no idea why BMW made the E90 interior so lacking and spartan after 2009. I also found that almost all Automatic 335xi from the 2011MY seem to all come with navigation and fold down seats but nothing else. I love the deep sea blue color and oyster leather seats. I also got to push the engine a bit today driving thru some empty patrol-free winding country roads in North NJ and Upstate NY. I'm impressed First mod is to replace the steering wheel with a 335is Sports Shift Paddle wheel. Get seat backs with net pockets. Replace Armrest with the Sliding one. Install Rear power sunshade. Add some sort proper of Key Remote Comfort access (So I can use the key remotely to raise and lower the windows and power fold the mirrors). I also wanted to search the forums if they were any white LED conversion for the E90 angel eyes.

Congrats on your new ride. I love the color combo and to answer your question, yes there are vendors that sell white LED angel eyes.

Nice looking car.
You should invest in some LED fog lights and LED Angel Eyes. About $200.00 Lux for the angel eyes; I don't think Mtech makes them for LCI models. If you don't want to get LED fog lights, you can get Phillips Diamond H8's. You need to code your car to move mirrors and Windows. Look into iCarly. |

Welcome! I read lots of your DIYs for the E46, glad to see you here.
Like mweisdorfer said, the key fob functions can be coded. Since you're in NY you might want to post in the local forum and see if there's anyone near you who can do it for you. I still use the stock angel eyes, but from what I've read Lux is definitely the best option. |

We have basically exactly the same car, haha, you can see mine in my profile, but you can basically see the same thing in real life. My car has been awesome so far, so I'm sure you will enjoy yours!

Found some old pics!
My entire driving life has been 3 series! I just can't escape! Below is my Calypso Red Metallic 1995 318i Sedan E36 that I owned from 6/2004 when it came to me with 132,000 miles until 9/2008 when it left me heavily modified with OEM and Euro upgrades and injured at 165,000 miles. Next up was my Topaz Blue Metallic 2001 330i Sedan E46 that I owned from 9/2008 when it come to me with 37,000 miles until 03/2016 when it left me heavily modified with OEM upgrades at 96,000 miles. Now I'm in my Deep Sea Blue Metallic 2011 335i xDrive Sedan E90.... Maybe considering a 2017 F30 Mediterranean Blue Metallic 340i xDrive Sedan or 2016 F10 550i/535i xDrive Sedan for my next car purchase in 2020.... Still it is kind of cool to see one's car journey in pictures over a 13 year period.

Honestly, I'd shoot for the 5 series if at all possible. To me the 5 series BMWs most well balanced car. It gives you the sporty feel the 3 series offers but also some comfort and luxury aspects from the 7 series. It's a nice smooth ride with plenty of room, but it's not overly huge. Very well rounded.
