jb4 + intake questions
just bought a new 2016 228i xdrive
i just ordered the stage 1 piggyback from mike at n54tuning and was wondering what peoples thoughts are on a intake for the car? i had a injen short ram intake on my veloster turbo and enjoyed the sound but not sure it really made any more horses.. would i find much more difference with the stage 1 tune though? thoughts? You will definitely feel the Jb4 work its magic.
Intake will help alot! If money isn't of much of a worry i would highly suggest AWE Carbon-S Intake, Not only does it look good but i'd like to believe its the best intake out there for 228. http://www.awe-tuning.com/f22-2-seri...w-f22-228-sflo Perfect Fitment - Guaranteed No Check Engine Light - Guaranteed Plug and play MAF and breather locations Max gains of 16hp and 17ft-lbs of torque at the crank Carbon fiber turbo inlet pipe, removes factory silencer Josh/AWE |

Intake money is much better spent on a sport cat or catless down pipe if you want a performance gain. If you can't feel it on the road, there isn't much point in getting it unless you want the added turbo sound. Plus, its one more thing to remove for dealer visits.

In terms of power, as mentioned intake will not add much
In terms of getting a better sound while staying emission friendly, intake is a great addition. I recommend the Injen Intake

Thinking of going with the Injen and BMS stage 1 for a small improvement in power and sound. I know the BMS can be easily removed for service. Will I have issues with warranty with the Injen?

Unless you are going for an issue related to the intake, you should be fine

I got the Injen intake solely for sounds, and let me tell you, that turbo spool is heaven inside the cabin and with the windows down is even better. Like everyone else mentioned, it's not for much of a power gain unless you're upgrading the turbo
