Yes I did. Got one of these from the USofA:

http://www.saikoumichi.com/

Plumbed it in to the line taking oil and vapour from the crankcase breather to the inlet side. Incidentally I also partially blocked the EGR line to minimise exhaust cr*p getting into the inlet side.

Pics showing installation below. As my car has electric steering I was able to mount the OCC on the bracket where the power steering reservoir usually sits.

I reckon it catches about 0.5 litres every 16,000 miles, so for me once a year is fine.

Why have you fitted a catch can? I thought these where used for turbo/supercharged cars, it's only because I've never seen one fitted to a na engine.
Looks a tidy installation nice job

To help reduce carbon build-up on the backs of the inlet valves. The N53 is direct injection...

Following.

I'm thinking of fitting one to my N53 too, especially after a Terraclean.

How did you blank off the EGR? Is there a specific blanking plate for this engine?
And did you have to do any coding to tell the ECU that the EGR is partially blanked off?

Cheers

None specific that I'm aware of. I used one like this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-V...IAAOxyeZNTUNqP

You'll need to check for the size between locating holes. No coding necessary - that's why you use one with the central hole, as it fools the ECU into thinking the EGR's working as normal.

As I recall access was a bit tricky to one of the bolts on the EGR pipe that you need to split to insert the blanking plate. I think you have to access it through a gap in the inlet manifold.

Thanks.

So you blanked the egr pipe at the inlet side? Could it be blanked off at the exhaust side?

Not sure. I inserted the blanking plate at the point shown as '6' bellow:
