I didn't see that coming, he's so deadpan when not acting in front of the camera, maybe that's what they need against Chris Evans though.

I don't actually think it's a bad idea, apparently he's a decent racing driver. Well into his cars, can be funny at times so a good hamster replacement?

Now Chris Evan's, not so sure... You ideally need someone like Jeremy Clarkson, who doesn't punch people over food.

Really? Might work, we'll have to give them time, watch the early "new" top gears and you can see it took a while to progress through to the three buddies act as it does in real life.

I just can't get my head around what format they will use that won't remind us of what went before and the evitable comparisons.

It will be interesting to see how he does, not sure how well the new cast will get along but I guess that may not matter that much. I imagine it'll be a bit more serious in format.

Caught the tail end of a story on this on the radio today, assumed Matt had died but thought it odd the report said some people considered it a smart move,

Would never have guessed a TG role !

A positive contrast to Chris Evans who still grates on my nerves. He is simply too earnest in his jollity.

From what I've seen of him Le Blanc comes across well in a dead-pan funny kind of way.

The thing that gets me is why Chris Evans can't seem to shave properly? There is just something about his ginger next-day-five-o'clock-shadow face that makes him the perfect illustration of "face for radio".
