i saw this on my little (no navigation) screen the other day upon starting my car for the 1st time. Is there any way i can default this to come on every time i start my vehicle?? just curious

I don't think so, it appears to be random (on my NBT). You normally see it when the iDrive has been restarted.

You can code the splash screen to your own taste.

that does look pretty cool

Its not random, it has to do with how soon you get in after you unlock it and also for how long the car has been sitting.

If you slowly open the door, buckle your seatbelt, then turn the car on, you won't see it because the headunit will have already booted in the background. It's the cars goal for you to not see that and for it to just be ready when you get in.
