Longest mileage on original water pump?
Waterpump finally went on the car after 285,000km never changed since I bought the car. Not that I should have/was lazy, it just never leaked and ran solid. Have a feeling it could've lasted longer and got hit when the radiator was changed last month due to a crack.

I replaced mine with turbos before 100. No issues but while I was in there I figure i'd be able to go another 100 without worry. Based off what you've said, maybe another 30k-50k and I will replace radiator.

I euthanized mine at 145k miles. It was working fine but I needed a new thermostat so I went ahead with wp replacement as well.

Replaced mine on 110k as preventative, worked fined. Rather didn't change it, since I'm guessing it could run much longer. 35k on replacement, so far so good.

108,000 on the original water pump, 2010 328i, and I'm going to have a new one put on at 110k along with a transmission fluid change on the automatic (even if BMW says it's a lifetime fill)

currently at 113k. I changed the error codes so they should trigger an MIL (for pump underspeed/overcurrent etc). We'll see if that gives any better warning. On one hand I want to replace it ahead of time, on the other I want to see how far it will go.
I've seen N52 pump/tstat kits on ebay for under $300. Anyone try one of those? Seems tempting but I can't imagine it's OEM quality. Not unless the cost of manufacturing pumps has dropped dramatically. |
