GTechniq
So I've got the new car going off for a new car detail and GTechniq protection. For those of you who have GTechniq crystal serum, what's the best way to wash it to maintain the protection and shine. What products to use?

I have the serum with EXO. I use g-wash which is great, I can't get on very well with the quick Detailer though....I find it smeary and doesn't give the shine that I have got from other brands.
The Detailer who applied my serum was insistent that I use cold water to wash the car, so I've been doing that for the last year...water proof salzskins are essential! I love gtechniq. Be sure to get their tar remover and iron away stuff...supposedly it is safe with their coatings (although I can't understand how). A year on the beading and protection is great, all I've done is redone the windows and wheels. |

Same as above, just G wash on mine (has Serum). Really pleased with the ease of cleaning and the result each time

I'm sure most ceramic coatings are generally the same. They for certain for protecting the paintwork.
I know that there is differnet curing dates on some of those though. I can't wash my motor until around a week after application. Apparently any pressure washing can remove coating. This is Max Potect, although not sure about Gtech. My motor is mankey & needs another good wash |

My last two cars were were both fully detailed by my GTechniq guy in Bristol.
The GC is scheduled to have a full Detail as soon as we collect it, it will have the Wheels and Glass Treated and the paint with Crystal Serum, still debating if to add Exo or not, as the car will always be cleaned with G Wash (2 bucket method, Ultimate Finish Wash Mitt and dried with portable Blaster) and topped off with C2v3. I'm very happy with the GTechniq stuff. |

My Crystal serum is swirling up and i have managed to polish out scratches which isnt supposed to be possible.
Either the detailer i used didnt do a good job or the product claims are misleading. It looks good though but this swirl resistance claim i think is not true. I can literally scratch with my finger new swirls then polish them out with a MF cloth and Scratch X. |

That doesn't sound like Crystal Serum or a product that has been applied properly.
I know of owners who have had the odd ding or graze and the Crystal Serum has to be aggresively removed before repair and retreating.

The detailer has let me down, never returns calls or texts. Gets plenty of advertising up on FB though for more business. |
