Business Nav 606 update
Hi
I have a 2014 F32 with business nav 606 (and 6.5" screen). This car was built before BMW did the update of this system in March 2014 (cosmetic update with nicer graphics and bt audio streaming) My question is can I update my 606 to this newer version easily? Or would my dealer do it? I would love the album artwork feature and bt audio streaming that the new version gives. I know nothing about coding but would learn if I thought this was easy enough and didn't cause any problems when car goes in for service Thanks |

No you can't just update easily - as from 3/2014 on it is a completely new Headunit called "Entrynav". You have the old one "Champ2". This is not just a "cosmetic update", but a completely new system!
So you would need the new Headunit... Last edited by TePee; 01-27-2016 at 09:18 AM.. |

I have a very similar version to you. My HU is CHAMP2 which is almost identical to the ENTRY HU.
I too would like to upgrade but the best option is an NBT upgrade. The cost is about £920 to upgrade so quite a hefty sum. |

My head unit looks slightly different than these ones above (if that makes any difference)? - The actual screen is the same but the surround is different. heres similar photo.
how do you know the type of head unit you have? i.e. champ, entry etc Last edited by alpini; 01-27-2016 at 08:21 AM.. |

This is the screen (Central Information Display), not the headunit. The headunit is the device under your dash, which has radio, navigation system etc inside.
The screen you show at your last post is normally the one of Business Nav 606, doesn't matter if old or new version. Anyway you can check which version you have e.g. when you check your map version. If it is ROUTE, then you have the new HU Entrynav. If it is MOVE, then you have the old Champ2. |

The Upgrade from old to new business nav version is not that easy, because the old one has an extra combox and the new version has build it in... So there is also a rewiring necessary!

Normally you should find it under "options" of your nav menu.
Tomsab0 already mentioned the combox. With old Business nav it is possible to have it or not, depends on your car options. If you don't have it, you could retrofit easier the new nav versions (Entrynav or NBT) as these have most of these functions bulit in. If you have a combox then you can enable bluetooth streaming by just coding. |

Nevertheless, I've also heard the CHAMP2 units are actually superior to the HU_ENTRY nav systems. I've no idea why but I've heard it on the couple of occasions. I'm looking to eventually do an NBT upgrade to my car, but not right away. Just waiting for the right priced unit and I'll go ahead with the change. |

Sorry, but you're mixing up everything.
The last showef full glass front 6,5" screen is normally always the one which comes with Business nav, doesn't matter if old or new version. Maybe there are very few exceptions in few special markets, e.g. I've seen such pics at Russian cars (which also corredponds to the pics on the top of this thread showing cyryllic letters). And Champ2 is the old Business nav. The new Business nav is Entrynav (not Entry) and it is way better! Last edited by TePee; 01-28-2016 at 07:50 AM.. |

Hello,
I have a F31 09/2014 with a HU Entrynav 6,5" and I would like to buy a 8,8" display. Is this part number 65509292248 ? And is it just ok to swap the headunits in the car or does there need to be coded too? I have S606 Navigation business and my VIN is f912651 BR Ryan |
