UK deliveries of M2 end of 2016?

I received some information... Can anyone confirm this?

"UK deliveries of the M2 look to be toward the last quarter of the year"

Thanks in advance,

MR

My dealer is getting 3 customer cars and a demonstrator this year. He told me he is expecting one in May, one september (my car) and one in Nov/Dec. The dealer is also still expecting a demonstrator for April.

I have a deliver date of week 39, which I believe is late september, very close to last quarter.

It does seem the largest batch for the UK is later in the year, but UK M2 deliveries are not solely Q4. So I would say there is some truth in the statement.

I think you should be lucky if you can get a car in 2016 at this stage.

My dealer showed me week 23 on his system for delivery for my car. I'm first in line and a bit disappointed not to get it earlier.

You've done well...

I put my deposit down the day it was loaded on to the system (back in the middle of October), I'm also number 1 at my dealer. Looking at early October delivery.

the waiting game

My Car is in the country and BMWUK holding onto the cars until about a week before the release apparently.

This is like Xmas when I was 5 years old, it can't come soon enough.

So the waiting game commences.........

only 27 DAYS 07 HOURS 26 MINUTES

which idiot invented countdown timers on the web?

I think that's a no then on the Q4 rumour. My dealership is delivering them to customers throughout the year.

There's a rumour that the UK is in Europe, but I don't believe it. About 25-miles of water says otherwise.

Anyhow, I've got a dealer screenshot from yesterday that shows my car being built in the second week of April for delivery in the second week of May. That's about the same time for build+shipping+delivery as my M135i and M235i so I guess I'll wait to see if they start on schedule.

My M2 has just been confirmed as coming next month. Now having second thoughts as I've been offered something else that takes my fancy!

If there is a decent offer, I'd sell...

Seems to be a big variation on delivery months. Another local dealer to me, same group. Their first one is arriving this week. Where as my dealer isnt until June.

I was originally quoted may/june as they assumed they would get first one April, second June and third September. Hasnt work like that however.

I've noticed a couple of dealers close to me,not dealers I've ordered from incidentally, but ones I've approached to check colours etc have already sold their demo cars which I was led to believe that they wouldn't, and these were to the customers who were waiting for them later in the year.As soon as the 16th is past, then they're out of the showroom.

They must be confident that they can sell everything they get if they can't demo the M2 because they've sold it.

My dealer has their demo car and I've been invited to test drive it when they've run it in,but it's not for sale.A pessimistic dealership perhaps

Both dealers close to me, that have demonstrators have sold them. They have also sold all of this year's allocation and well into next year.

I have seen my dealer's LBB demonstrator but there is no unveil, disappointed with this, wanted to bring 'her indoors' along to have a look.

Yes I was told earlier that demos wouldnt be forsale and maybe only be showroom static. Doesnt seem to have happened that way.

I know of one local to me that has been bought and he's sold it on at 3k profit. (He also has one on order too to keep, from another dealer)

This is exactly my situation except I haven't sold the first car and might cancel the second. The thinking behind it is there is no point in having a demonstrator of a car you can't sell because you struggle to get hold of them. No one seems to be struggling to take preorders without anyone actually seeing one in real life.
